Bee Safe Bee Removal | Large Wall Hive Removal and Siding Repair

Service Details

This call was for a large honey bee colony established behind the exterior siding between the first and second floors of the home. October in this area still brings steady bee activity, and the colony had built out a significant amount of comb inside the wall cavity. Before opening the structure, I used an infrared camera to confirm the exact footprint of the hive. The thermal image clearly showed heat concentration running vertically between studs, and I documented that for the file. After removing the necessary section of siding, I exposed a dense hive with heavy comb and stored honey. I vacuumed the bees into transport boxes and carefully cut out the comb section by section to prevent collapse inside the wall. The insulation in the cavity had absorbed honey and was no longer usable, so it was removed and replaced once the space was fully cleared. All interior framing was cleaned of residue before closing. Once the new insulation was installed, the siding was reattached and secured. All seams and small gaps around the work area were sealed with exterior-grade caulk to reduce the chance of reentry. At completion, the wall cavity was restored structurally and properly sealed.
