Bee Safe Bee Removal | Yellowjacket Nest Removal from Bird Feeder

Service Details

On October 31st I handled a yellowjacket removal in the 76054 area. The nest had been built inside a hanging bird feeder in a residential yard. By late October, yellowjackets are still active in North Texas, especially when they find enclosed spaces that provide shelter. The feeder was completely filled with nest material. I have clear photos showing how densely packed the interior was. Activity was steady around the opening when I arrived. Since this was a yellowjacket removal no structural work was involved, I treated the nest directly using a commercially rated pesticide labeled as pet safe and child safe when applied according to standards. Once activity slowed, I removed the nest material from inside the feeder and disposed of it. The feeder housing itself remained intact. After clearing it out, I applied a pheromone blocker inside the cavity to reduce the chance of reoccupation. I advised that it may take some time for remaining foragers to disperse from the area.
