Service Details

This job took place in late June, which is a common time to find established bee activity in rooflines. The bees had built their hive below the roof tiles, not visible from the ground. I confirmed the location and size of the colony using an infrared camera, which gave a very clear thermal image and helped pinpoint the exact area without opening unnecessary sections of the roof. That step made it possible to plan the removal cleanly and limit how much material needed to be disturbed. Access was made from below the roof tiles, and the hive was removed in stages to keep everything controlled. Once the bees and comb were taken out, I cleaned the cavity and checked the surrounding space for leftover material that could attract future activity. After removal, I completed the repair work in the same area, restoring the roof tiles and sealing the entry point so it matched the existing structure and stayed weather-tight. The repair was a key part of this visit, since exposed gaps under tiles are a common reason bees return. With the hive gone and the structure properly closed up, the roofline was left in solid condition. As usual, I advised that some lingering bee traffic could be expected briefly while foragers adjusted, which is normal for this type of removal.
