Service Details

This job was done in late March, when bee activity starts picking up around soffits and roof edges. The hive was located in a first-story soffit, and I confirmed its position using a thermal camera from the outside. The heat signature was very clear, which helped define the size of the colony and the exact boundaries of the hive without opening anything up prematurely. That information was important for planning a clean removal and keeping the scope tight. Even though the thermal image was taken from outside, the customer specifically asked that no exterior damage be visible once the job was finished. To meet that request, I accessed the hive from inside the structure instead of opening the soffit from the outside. The bees and comb were removed carefully from the interior cavity, and the area was cleaned to reduce the chance of future interest from scout bees. Working from the inside took more time but avoided disturbing the exterior finish. Once the removal was complete, I handled the interior repairs in the same visit. The soffit area was closed back up, sealed, and left in solid condition. From the outside, there were no visible signs that work had been done, which was the goal. As with all live removals, some short-term bee movement was expected while remaining foragers adjusted.
