Service Details

This job took place in mid November, when bee activity is usually quieter but colonies are still well established inside structures. The hive was hidden within an interior wall, and access from the outside would have required more extensive exterior work and higher costs. To avoid that, the decision was made to approach the removal from inside the house. Before opening anything up, I used a thermal camera to confirm the exact location and outline of the hive. The thermal image was very clear and helped limit how much interior material needed to be opened. Once access was made from the inside, the bees and comb were removed in a controlled way. Working from the interior allowed better visibility of the cavity and reduced the need to disturb siding or exterior finishes. After the hive was removed, the space was cleaned to reduce residual odors that could attract future activity. The repair work was done immediately, closing the wall back up and sealing the area so it blended with the surrounding interior surfaces. By the end of the service, the structure was closed and stable, with no exterior disruption. As expected with live removals, some lingering bee movement was possible for a short time as remaining foragers adjusted, but the primary hive and access point were addressed during the visit.
