Bee Safe Bee Removal | Chimney Siding Hive Removal and Insulation Repair

Service Details

This job was done in late March, early spring activity starting to pick up. The bees were coming and going from behind the siding along the chimney, which narrowed the search area pretty quickly. Once the siding was opened, it was clear the hive had spread out sideways instead of going deep. The brick chimney blocked inward expansion, so the comb ran wide along the wall cavity. Removal was straightforward but time consuming because of the hive shape. The comb had to be taken out in sections, and bees were collected as access opened up. After the hive was fully removed, the cavity was cleaned and checked to make sure there were no remaining clusters. The insulation behind the siding had been compromised and was pulled out and replaced before closing the area back up. The siding was reinstalled and secured, leaving the structure sealed and solid. Visually, the repair will need paint from the owner to fully blend with the rest of the exterior, but the area is closed and functional. As expected, there was some light bee activity afterward that should taper off as remaining bees clear out.
