Bee Safe Bee Removal | Second Floor Balcony Bee Removal and Repair

Service Details

This was a mid May job with bees getting in through gaps along a second floor balcony parapet. Activity was easy to spot from below, but instead of setting up a ladder, the homeowner allowed access directly from the balcony. That made the whole job simpler and more controlled, and it kept us off the exterior wall. Most of the movement was focused in one section of the parapet where the bees had clearly been using the same entry point repeatedly. From the balcony, I ran a thermal scan and got a very clean image showing heat buildup just behind the parapet surface. That confirmed where the cluster was sitting and let me open only what was necessary. The live removal was done from that access point, with bees collected and boxed for transport. Everything stayed contained to the balcony area, and the thermal image helped avoid unnecessary cutting. Once the cavity was cleared, I sealed the area and completed the repair along the parapet to close off the entry gaps. Cleanup was straightforward, and no ladder was needed at any stage. There was still some light bee traffic afterward, which is expected, but the structure itself was secured and no longer accessible to the colony.
